How long have you been in the mortgage business, and what inspired you to get into it? I've been in this industry for over 20 years. My mom was a realtor, and I would spend afternoons and summers at her office, so you could even say that I grew up in this in this business! I knew I wanted to work in housing, but not as a real estate agent, so I started as an escrow assistant and became an escrow officer over eight years. After being a marketing rep for a few years, I pursued my passion for helping borrowers get into their homes as a Loan Officer.
What part of the home loan process do customers find most challenging, and how do you help them through it? I think the most challenging part is making the initial phone call. Once borrowers realize that the dream of homeownership can be a reality, they are happy to send and upload their documents. Having their hand held every step makes them feel empowered and helps the transaction run smoothly with minimal stress.
What provides you the most satisfaction in your job as a Loan Officer? I love telling my borrowers we have "clear to close." It's my favorite part!
